After more than two decades of practicing commercial litigation and representing individuals, family-owned businesses and publicly traded Fortune 500 companies, Bart has learned that each side has a story, but the better story-teller wins. Bart has mastered that art, and that’s one of the many reasons he makes an excellent advisor and attorney. . 

 

Bart digs deeply into the details of his clients’ business to make sure that their story is told.

 

Bart’s broad experience in representing people and companies involved in every aspect of litigation gives him a solid foundation to listen and understand what keeps his clients up at night.

 

Many of Bart’s clients have benefited from SLG’s litigation management model called Corporate Litigation Advisors.  The approach focuses on the development and implementation of strategies that identify critical facts in dispute and generates an action plan to achieve the best results for the client.

 

Bart’s business insight, combined with his extensive legal knowledge, creates a unique blend of expertise.

Before joining Shields Legal Group, Bart was the Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the U.S. Virgin Islands where he successfully litigated several major cases.  During his eleven years of service, the most noteworthy case he handled involved a fraudulent transfer and alter ego claims in connection with the liquidation of oil and gas assets in excess of $15 million.

 

Bart was also a Partner at Friedman and Feiger, LLC for two years, and served as the Shareholder and Founding Partner of Arnett Gaubert, LLP for nine years.  Bart started his career at Cadeax & Taglieri, P.C., where he was an Associate for seven years.

 

Bart graduated from the University of Virginia in 1987 and received his JD from George Mason University in 1990.  He is a member of the Texas State Bar.
