Katherine D. Hoke,
Managing Partner/Principal/Attorney
After more than two and a half decades of legal practice, I have discovered that when I understand the client’s objectives and goals for the engagement, it defines and shapes my strategy, problem solving and execution.
Strategic planning, creative problem solving and a deep understanding of business in general and yours in particular are the pillars of my unique professional services.
Diligence, attention to detail and astute analysis are just some of the benefits that my clients receive. As I am fond of saying, “The details provide the evidence, but it is how you put them together that wins the case.”
My practice has primarily focused on corporate, commercial, real estate and insurance litigation, as well as bankruptcy and creditor’s rights litigation. I have represented businesses, corporations and individuals in complex commercial and business litigation, including disputes arising out of contracts, real estate, commercial loans, construction, business entities, creditor’s rights and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
My broad experience in representing entities involved in every aspect of litigation helps me to understand what keeps you up at night.
As your Trusted Advisor, I listen first, assess your goals and risks, then work with you to develop strategies that fit the legal solutions into your business objectives.
I am proud to be a Principal at Shields Legal Group (SLG). My extensive experience in representing clients in complex business and commercial litigation gives me a unique perspective in crafting strategic solutions to your business needs.
Before joining Shields Legal Group, I was an associate for five years at Geary, Stahl & Spencer, which later became Geary, Glast and Middleton. I remained at Geary, Glast and Middleton until its dissolution in 1992.
I received my J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1987, where I was a member of the Order of the Barristers. My undergraduate degree is from the University of Connecticut in 1984, where I was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society and the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society.
I am licensed to practice law in state and county courts in the State of Texas, and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. I am also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.
Please let me know how I may help steer your business through turbulent litigation waters.
